We found out today that out of the 23 eggs they retrieved, 20 of them were inseminated. Out of the 20 inseminated eggs, 16 of them fertilized and became embryos. All 16 have been frozen until we are ready to use them. Knowing that they only transfer 2 embryos at a time, we can have up to 8 transfers. The first transfer is still included in the amount of money we already put down. However, each try after that will cost us about $2,000 for each transfer. And that's with Adam's insurance. Without the insurance, we would have to pay $4,000. Hopefully we can get our family with as few attempts as possible. :)
We're not sure how many embryos a typical IVF cycle produces, but I think we are on the higher end. I guess we have something going in our favor. :)
