3dpt ~ Remaining Embryos
Last night I called Lab Talk (like a voice mailbox where Mayo doctors leave messages for you) and found out that 1 embryo continued to grow and they refroze it. So let me back up a bit. For this transfer cycle, they took 6 of our embryos (we had 16) and thawed them. They took the best two embryos (the ones that declared themselves to be ready for implantation) and transferred them to my uterus. That left 4 embryos to grow a bit before they'd refreeze and viable ones. Well, out of the 4 that were left, only 1 made it. It's kind of sad, yet at the same time makes me feel hopeful that the 2 embryos they transferred WILL make it! We now have 11 embryos that are in cryopreservation. Hopefully we won't need to use them for a couple years if this cycle works!
